The trail consists of well-defined forest paths, grassy meadows, and gradual ascents. Most sections are easy to walk on, making the trek suitable for beginners with basic fitness.
The trek reaches a maximum altitude of approximately 3,688 meters (12,100 ft). While the altitude is moderate by Himalayan standards, trekkers may experience mild effects of reduced oxygen and should maintain proper hydration.
Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains. Summer temperatures remain pleasant, while winter temperatures can drop below freezing with heavy snowfall. Adequate layering is recommended throughout the year.

There are usually no major river crossings on the standard Dayara Bugyal route. Small seasonal streams may be encountered depending on weather conditions and time of year.

ISBT Dehradun → Uttarkashi
Take a regular UTC or private bus from ISBT Dehradun to Uttarkashi. From Uttarkashi, hire a local taxi to reach Raithal village.
